Sponsorship
Pembroke Players and the Japan Tour are entirely dependant on the generosity of their audiences, supporters, sponsors and benefactors. The Japan Tour has visited a dozen Japanese institutions and has so far worked with or performed to over four thousand students every year, as well as hundreds more in the UK, through performances and educational workshops. As a vehicle for cultural exchange, language skills and theatrical techniques it is unrivalled among Cambridge theatre tours.
To fund the Japan Tour costs approximately £25,000, and we are always looking for indviduals, trusts and corporations who feel they could benefit from sponsoring us.
We can offer sponsors:
- access to some of the top graduates in the UK
- publicity to audiences across Cambridge and Tokyo, and often other
Japanese cities as well as London - potential connections to Pembroke Players and Pembroke College
- flexible arrangements including payment in kind, part-sponsorship and
donation of time, skills and contacts - generous packages spanning future Tours and guaranteeing you publicity
In particular we can offer sponsors the opportunity to support any aspect of the tour, depending on your sector:
- enhancing the quality of the production itself, for instance through props and costumes
- transport of cast and freight from the UK to Japan
- donation of materials, technical equipment and tools
- assistance with design, printing and distribution of publicity
- welfare of the cast when abroad, including food and medical costs
- grants for members of the cast in financial need (an especial CSR opportunity)
In all cases we can offer advertising through several means, each offering access to thousands of students:
- branding on Tour hoodies and merchandise
- prominent branding on all Tour publicity in the UK and Japan, including the website
- space on all programmes and educational materials
We are particularly keen to encourage corporate sponsorship of the Tour. It is a fantastic investment, bringing companies unusually close access to an outstanding global network of students of academic excellence and personal transferable skills. While much corporate advertising in Cambridge is hard to focus, monitor and assess, because we are run compactly we can offer targeted publicity and work with you to assess your advertising during and between Tours. And with the Tour now secure until at least 2015, through a major partnership with a Japanese university, we can guarantee you a stable and reliable advertising platform.
Please contact James Sharp, the Tour Manager, for more information about sponsorship.
