The Committee

Pembroke Players Committee

PEMBROKE PLAYERS COMMITTEE 2011/2012 ( FROM LEFT TO RIGHT) - MIKE FALLOWS, DAVID JOSEPH, HOLLY MAGUIRE, MATT PULLEN, SIMON NORMAN, MICHAEL COTTON, OLI REW, HATTIE LLOYD, HEIDI HOWARD.

President: Jamie Webb

Jamie is a first year Philosopher and is a recovering alcoh...oh wait, that’s the other committee. His favourite play is Cyrano de Bergerac and he loves nothing more than booking venues, organising meetings, and generally encouraging people to get involved with the Pembroke Players! He also supports Manchester United, but don’t let that put you off contacting him if you have any enquiries about what the Pembroke Players can do for you.

Artistic Director: Matthew Clayton

Matt is the one who reads applications for shows and helps to decide the Players’ term card. Before becoming drunk on Camdram points and power, he started his first year of Cambridge drama in the New Cellars, appearing in Art and directing the 2011 Freshers’ Production, Play and Other Plays by Samuel Beckett. He has since directed Moments (Larkum Studio) and appeared in a total of 8 other shows at the ADC and Corpus. His favourite director is Declan Donnellan, and he is a fan of the Theatre of the Absurd. He welcomes any questions about Cambridge drama in general from actors, directors, writers etc. and is happy to offer advice about applying to put on a show.

Comedy: Harry McNeill Adams

Harry is a second year historian whose favourite comedy programme, Blackadder, unfortunately failed to provide the springboard to exam success that he had hoped for. He organises smokers and other events, including the infamous Pembroke Freshers’ panto, and runs auditions for the smokers. In his spare time, Harry enjoys playing the harp, cooking and making up hobbies to look more cultured than he actually is.

Publications: Simon Norman

Simon is a third year Natural Sciences student, and his favourite play is The 39 Steps. His job on committee is to ensure people in the outside world know what is happening, through posters, flyers, emails, Facebook and Twitter. Simon finds the time to do this by sleeping very little and drinking a lot of coffee (black, no sugar if you were curious).

Communications: Hannah Kaner

Hannah is a first year English student who has, to her excitement, finally learned how to use a computer. English, unfortunately, has not given her the gift of the gab, but Communications means she only has to mess around with the website and make things easier for you. Hannah's favourite play varies with which subject she's studying and what she's stage managing for, but among the best are Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman, Oscar Wilde's A Woman of No Importance and Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing. If you need to ask her anything, she'll be happy to receive any questions and emails and will liaise with the rest of the Committee for you.
